The Third Irish International UFO Conference which took place in the Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co.Leitrim over the weekend of 23rd/24th September was voted the best yet!!

The venue, which was the Business Conference Hall in the Hotel, was just the right size to accommodate the Speakers and the 70-plus guests who attended. The Hall has the state-of-the-art equipment by way of projectors, videos, screens, etc. and although we were able to operate it on our own most of the time, the Hotel Maintenance man, Sergi, was quickly on the spot if we ran into difficulties.
Around the Hall were display tables, manned by Speakers, A.J.Gevaerd, Krys Zurek and Ann Andrews, also by Eamon Ansbro and Degnan Geraghty, both of whom were Speakers last year. On the UFOSI table by the door, our two authors, Carl Nally and Dermot Butler whilst helping with registration, also had some of their by now top-selling book “Conspiracy of Silence”, available for sale. They were kept busy autographing the 20 copies they had brought with them and in fact could have sold twice as many! Also helping them was Louise O’Hara, one of our members, who had two of her pictures for sale – ET scenes, very unusual and both sold almost immediately.

I expect that she will bring more with her next year. Well done to all three!

» The proceedings began with a brief address by myself as President of the UFO Society of Ireland, welcoming all present, many of whom had travelled great distances. Our furtherest Speaker was from Brazil and the furtherest attendee was from Issaquah, Washington, U.S.A.! All of the Speakers were extremely interesting and each had very different views and presentations on this amazing subject of UNIDENTIFIED FLYING  OBJECTS.

» The first Speaker was our own Carl Nally, co-founder of U.P.R.I. (UFO & Paranormal Research Ireland) and joint author with Dermot Butler of “Conspiracy of Silence”. Carl  gave a riveting Presentation on “Pilots Reporting UFOs in Irish Skies” and he quoted facts and figures about many instances where pilots had seen objects in the sky, sometimes very close to them, but when they reported to Air Traffic Control, they were told that ‘nothing had shown up on radar’. Does this sound familiar??
 
» Next to speak was the veteran French researcher, Gildas Bourdais, and his Presentation was entitled “Hunt for the Skinwalker – a Challenge for the ET Hypothesis?”  He spoke at length about the book “Hunt for the Skinwalker” by Colm Kelleher and George Knapp, which tells of the strange goings-on at a ranch in the Utah area. Apart from ghostly sightings and poltergeist-like manifestations, there was the frightening appearance of ‘The Skinwalker’, a huge wolf-like creature which attacked the ranch livestock – it just could not be killed. The local Indians have apparently been aware of  strange goings-on in the area for many years.
 
» Phil Medley from England was the next Speaker, and his Presentation was entitled “Do E.Ts Evolve?” His area of interest is Stargates which, he said, have been used by Extraterrestrial races and has enabled them to cross the vastness of space, arriving in our neighbourhood within a very short time. It certainly is an intriguing concept. He told us about a trip he had made to Alaska in 2005 during which time he claimed to have ‘rescued’ a Pleidian craft that had become stuck in a Stargate. He alluded to some disturbing information concerning illnesses that have become rampant among the indigenous peoples there since new oil pipelines in the area have been built and put into operation.
 
» The final talk on Saturday was given by Polish-born (now living in Ireland) Kyzysztof Zurek entitled “Return of Cosmic Consciousness”.  It was largely a personal view of the global UFO situation, indicating that humanity is set for something of an awakening.  His theme was that many signs are now increasingly being left for us by a superior intelligence.  These can be seen in sightings of UFOs, especially fleets of them, and the (genuine) Crop Circle formations.  We are being warned of a tough time just ahead of us – with the present ‘War on Terror’ perhaps being just the initial stages of it, and the oft-mentioned late 2012 – courtesy of Mayan Prophecy – being the date when it finally comes to a head.

» The first Speaker on Sunday was Ann Andrews from Kent, England, and her Presentation was entitled “Raising a Multidimensional Starchild in a Changing World”. She talked about the problems her son Jason, has faced through almost his entire 23 years which were very thought-provoking and at times troubling. As a baby, Jason was often found under his cot, and as he became a little older he would be terrified to go to bed at night because “they would come and take me”. He (and his parents) have now come to terms with the truth – that he was being taken by Extraterrestrials to be given specific knowledge. Ann’s book on the subject is a great read and I will give you  details about it in the next Newsletter –I do not have it at time of printing.

» Gary Heseltine from England was the next Speaker and his Presentation was entitled “The History of British Police Officer UFO Sightings” After four years of research on the PRUFOS Police database he has now assembled 163 cases dating between 1901 and 2006 involving 403 British Police officers. He detailed many cases that he has investigated when officers have seen bizarre aerial objects. As a serving detective with the British Transport Police he has been specially trained to interview witnesses and to interpret their body language, so his investigative efforts in the UFO field have to be taken seriously.

» Next to speak was David Cayton from  England, whose Presentation was entitled “Silent Killers”. David has researched animal mutilation cases in England and showed some rather disturbing  pictures of  animals with single, small holes bored in their heads, part of jawbones removed, tongues cut out and the removal of internal organs through very small holes. All sorts of animals have been involved – cattle, sheep, hedgehogs and even a cat! The incisions were all very neat and indeed surgical, and there were no traces of blood around, as one would have expected. Similar cases have been reported in the United States, Canada and Australia. There was no explanation as to who or what had perpetrated these atrocities – or indeed why?

» The final Speaker was A.J.Gevaerd the well-known researcher from Brazil, and editor of Brazil’s four UFO magazines. His Presentation was entitled “Astounding New Evidence of Alien Activities in the Amazon”. He focused on a boat trip he had taken along the Amazon, during which he had stopped off at many villages to speak with the local people who referred to the UFOs and their crews, as being part and parcel of their local history, their folklore. Remember that these people have no television and few radios, yet they tell of ‘Visitors from the Sky’  He talked about  some sinister events from the late 1970s when UFOs for some reason began attacking people in a remote coastal area in the Atlantic northeast of Brazil, by firing laser-like beams of light at them.  Many received serious burns in these incidents.  Why? –nobody knows.
 
MOON RIVER PLEASURE CRUISE
The Boat Trip aboard the ‘Moon River’ Pleasure Cruiser down the River Shannon, was an outstanding success, as always. We were supposed to cast away at 6 p.m., but had to do two circles to retrieve guests who were waving frantically from the pier, so we were a little late getting away –so what else is new? My friend Mary Cretaro (from the Little Chick in Boyle) provided us with a delicious hot supper – how she does it, I don’t know. By the time  we were fully replete we hadn’t noticed that the boat had just done a round trip and we were back at the pier to take off the food and to on-load Michael Harrington and all his musical equipment.  Michael soon had us all dancing in the aisles and then there was a respite for Caroline, our Belly Dancer to come on. She was simply great as always and some of the braver ones actually took to the floor and danced with her! A really great time was had by all.
 
FILMS SHOWN
A new departure this year was the showing of some films – on Saturday we showed Ronan Gallagher’s ’Loving the Alien’, a documentary that was shot during the last UFO Conference – we have mentioned it before.
It was very well received.
Carl and Dermot brought along a DVD showing Jaime Maussan and Santiago Yturria Garza at the 2006 MUFON Conference showing fleets of UFOs over Mexico City and extraordinary video clips of Flying Humanoids, as well as a stunning sequence of an Entity attempting to grab a young lad playing in an alleyway.
When this was researched later an area above the ground where the Entity was seen was shown to have extremely high levels of radiation -truly amazing and quite riveting.
Eamonn Ansbro showed us a most amusing 5-minute music video produced by and starring ‘Doctor Who’ actor Nabil Shabeen doing a spoof on the notorious Ray Santilli ‘Alien Autopsy’ – it had us all in stitches!!
